Joseph Holdcroft
Victorian majolica ware was produced at Daisy Bank in Longton, England from 1870 to 1885. His work is some of my favorite because of
his true recreation of nature and his use of great colors. Items can be found marked
with "JHOLDCROFT" but many items can only be attributed by
their patterns and rich colors that are documented to come from the Holdcroft potteries.
Not only was his work inspired by designs from Minton, Wedgwood and George Jones,
but he also made use of some of their actual molds.
